The Fort Worth Business Press reports that the West 7th development is continuing to add tenants to its roster, and that Cypress has switched from Starwood to another hotel operator. The new hotel will be announced by the end of the month.

So…it’s a bit irritating to be signed up for Google Alerts on “So7,” keeping an eye out for news about the Fort Worth urban development, when there’s also an apparently somewhat popular Indonesian band out there called “Sheila on 7,” whose fans all seem to like referring to the band as “So7.”

It didn’t get much press, and in fact most of the people I know didn’t even hear about it. Nevertheless, the City Council voted in late May to demolish the 7th Street bridge over the Trinity to replace it with a new bridge which will be able to accommodate the Cultural District line of [...]

Southwest Bank’s new urban building on 7th is making steady progress as well. The building will be a bank branch and will also have some leasable retail space besides the bank I believe. It was designed by local architect Robert W. Kelly.

SoSeven’s Shops & Lofts are making steady progress - one of the new buildings already has two levels of condos atop its ground-level retail space, and framing for the third should be rising shortly.

In the back of the property, they’re continuing with the construction of more blocks of townhomes.

No, it’s still not open, but they are really doing a big makeover to the little box at 7th & Carroll - and you have to love the ever-changing messages on their sign.

Museum Place has been making big progress. Above, you see One Museum Place, the development’s large mixed-use retail/office/condo building at the big University/Camp Bowie/7th/Bailey intersection. Lots of facade work is underway on the building at the moment.

The plan above shows the location of the already announced retail tenants in the development - it’s a little blurry, but you can see where the Movie Tavern, Lucky Strike, Fireside Pies, and the rest [...]

A note related to Museum Place - J & J’s Hideaway, the long-running bar between 7th & Darcy in the Cultural District, has closed. The Hideaway’s last night was last night - I was doing some photography around the Kimbell and could hear the celebration from the courtyard.
