Zio Carlo, the Italian brewpub on Magnolia Avenue in the Near Southside that’s being created by Carlo Galotto, keeps on moving forward. After a string of setbacks, the project has come a long way lately, and progress is evident when looking at the building. Restoration and redevelopment of the former Gunn’s Cleaners building at College & Magnolia has been proceeding at a steady pace. The building’s windows are being restored, repainted, and reinstalled (the restored window frames are green, easily distinguishable from the unrestored white frames). The back of the building has been repainted as well, visible in the second photo.
Zio Carlo will be serving up a variety of their own beers as well as a selection of Italian dishes.
