Another Mixed-Use Development For The Near Southside

Tipsters have told us that this recently-surveyed lot, located at Grainger & Leuda in the Near Southside, will be home to a new mixed-use infill development. The development is said to be ground-floor office with apartments above.

The site is located in one of the Near Southside’s T4-N (for “Neighborhood”) zones. These are proving to be vitally important to the district’s redevelopment, as they require any development within them to include a residential component.

No word yet on a rendering, or even an architect. We’ll keep our ears open and update when we know more. It’s great to hear that the small-scale mixed-use urban infill happening in the Near Southside continues to pick up momentum even in this economy.

Responsible and thoughtful comments are welcome. Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted. Commenters whose comments we routinely delete will be banned. Nothing personal, but this is a privately owned and operated web site, and we are aiming for a specific tone and audience. Work within those guidelines and all will be well.
