We’ve noticed that more things are opening, or making good progress towards opening, at the West 7th development. Besides Movie Tavern, Flirt Boutique has opened its doors as well, on Crockett in the first floor of one of the loft buildings.
Other tenants, such as Tillman’s Roadhouse, are starting to come together as well. It’s been quite the wait, but now that West 7th is just about complete, activity is coming to its ground floor spaces.
Responsible and thoughtful comments are welcome. Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted. Commenters whose comments we routinely delete will be banned. Nothing personal, but this is a privately owned and operated web site, and we are aiming for a specific tone and audience. Work within those guidelines and all will be well.
very exciting to watch all the new tenants move in
I live on west 7th and drove by yesterday and it appeared that tillman’s may have been open already, or possibly doing a soft opening. Any news on when they are suppose to be opening for good?
Patrick,
I too drove by Tillman’s yesterday, and, thinking the place had secretly opened beneath my eyes, I stopped in for a drink, just to check it out.
I went directly to the bar, and sat down. A friend was going to meet me at another place, so I told him to join me at Tillman’s. So we ordered drinks, and an appetizer. It was all good. After a second drink, we decided to go check out the new Movie Tavern.
When I asked for the check, I was very surprised by what I was told.
Apparently, that WAS the soft opening. I had walked in, and by skipping the hostesses altogether and sitting at the bar, I had “snuck in” under their noses. Long story short, the drinks and food were free. (It makes you wish you had ordered more food and drinks, but I’m not that type of guy to take advantage of great service and free drinks once I know it’s all free.)
The service was great, the drinks were fun, and the decor was mostly very cool. I loved the wooden finish and the plush couches, but the metal chairs didn’t really match the rest of the place’s design in my opinion. They went for warm interiors except on those metal chairs.
One bartender told me the grand opening was this Thursday. I hope my long-winded comment helps.
