The new bus stops in Downtown Fort Worth have been going up for a little while now and they’re almost complete – this one was just missing its schedule & route info. They look to us to be a nice improvement over the unfortunate ’70s-vintage stops that used to be at these sites – no more dark, heavy ’70s timber. Not only are they more attractive, but they’re also much more friendly and approachable, as they aren’t nearly as “hemmed-in” as the old stops felt.
Responsible and thoughtful comments are welcome. Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted. Commenters whose comments we routinely delete will be banned. Nothing personal, but this is a privately owned and operated web site, and we are aiming for a specific tone and audience. Work within those guidelines and all will be well.
I like!
I like the look. I did hear some complain that they were not great for keeping one dry in a big downpour but I have not experienced this first hand. From the look of it in a heavy rain if you stood right in the center you would remain dry but sitting on those seats you might get wet.
they bring to DT FW a new level of sophistication.
I agree they are nice, but one question: Why do we need one directly UNDERNEATH the Rennaissance Worthington…doesn’t seem like a good use of money when the rain doesnt fall underneath there the last time i checked.
I don’t know – they look nice, but I bet if you were a person that actually used the buses to get around I suspect you wouldn’t appreciate the design on a blustery cold rainy day. There is zero wind block and very poor rain shielding
