Cowtown Diner Coming To Sundance Square
By: Kevin Buchanan
The Fort Worth Business Press is reporting that the former La Madeleine space in Sundance Square’s historic Plaza Hotel Building has been re-leased by a new restaurant, Cowtown Diner:
Cowtown Diner will operate from 5,100 square feet of leased space at 301 Main St. in downtown Fort Worth and will feature a gourmet deli/take out market serving salads, sandwiches, prepared entrees and casseroles as well as full service, off-site catering and a home delivery family meal program.
“Cowtown Diner is for people who love to eat and enjoy bold, unique flavors,” Jones said in a release. “Our menu has a strong point of differentiation. We will feature classic recipes with a fresh flair. Guests will savor the entire experience of dining at Cowtown Diner, particularly the inventive interpretation on the vintage diner concept.”
Insert rant about “Cowtown” name here, of course. Beyond that, it’ll be interesting to see what Cowtown Diner’s menu will look like when it opens early next year.

Good to see the space utilized.
Will they also serve breakfast as previous occupant?
Jim
More importantly, will they serve breakfast between 2am and 3am?
Is that really the best name they could come up with for the location? Now, I half-hope the food’s not that great. I don’t want them to fail, just to do poorly enough to think about a name change, then once they change it, succeed.
Yes, I am glad it will stay a eatery, the name is OK, just hope the food is good and wholesome. I truly miss the bakery that was there back in the ealrly 90′s. The baked goods that they sold was some of the best in Fort Worth. I bet that Cowtown Diner will serve a bigger need for all those folks who now call home “Downtown”!A broad menu with lot of selection should be a hit.
“our menu has a strong point of differentiation” I’m glad to see the space is getting filled, but what does this mean?
So glad to hear that something is going into this space!
I hope it is as good as the sister/brother owned Sundance Square Market & Deli that used to be across from Tandy Center on Throckmorton (on the opposite corner from Caravan of Dreams). It went downhill in the late 90s after they sold it to new owners. I miss their King Ranch Chicken ~ hands down the best.
Always enjoy your blog.
