Times Ten Cellars Has Soft Opening

Times Ten Cellars has arrived in Fort Worth. The Dallas-based winery had a soft opening yesterday for its new second location, in a rehabbed building at Foch & Bledsoe in the Cultural District near the West 7th development, Fred’s, La Familia, J. Rae’s and other nearby businesses. We stopped in and grabbed a few photos of the newest addition to the rapidly changing 7th Street area.

You’d never know from looking at the building that Times Ten’s new location used to be an office building. The winery has radically changed things around, swapping cubicles and carpeting for dark wood and stained concrete floors. As you enter from Bledsoe, a tasting bar is on your right, and a series of tables is on your left. Also on the left is a posh lounge on the corner of the building for more relaxed imbibing. Further inside the building is a large events room, not yet quite finished at the time of our visit.

The winery has its own vineyard near Alpine, called Cathedral Mountain Vineyard. In addition, they make and sell wines from other vineyards. In all, Times Ten has over 20 wines on their menu, with enough variety for just about anybody to find something they like.

There’s also food. Small dishes are provided by nearby Lambert’s, and delivery is available from Rocco’s, Nizza, and Pappa Chang. Desserts are provided from the always-delicious J. Rae’s across Foch.

An interesting piece of the setup are the water glasses, one of which is visible here in the foreground on the bar. They’re made of Times Ten’s own recycled wine bottles.

Times Ten is still in “soft opening” mode at the moment, but don’t let that stop you – we encourage local wine lovers to head over and give them a visit. Their location makes them perfect for a nice walk down from, say, La Familia or Fred’s. Already, Times Ten looks to fit right in with the other offerings on/coming to the 7th Street area, and the blocks around them are primed to continue to redevelop. Give them a look next time you’re in the Cultural District.
