Greatness. Thanks. I had a spectacular wreck at the Rogers underpass years ago. A woman on a mountain bike coming up toward Hoffbrau wasn't watching and panicked when she saw me coming down. She overeacted, her front wheel went off the pavement and then she went down in front of me. When I hit her, I did a complete flip and landed on my back. Thanks to my helmet and the almost perfectly flat landing, I was relatively unscathed. I could still ride home. She however suffered a dislocated shoulder and very bruised dignity. She was very upset with herself, mentioning also she had just gotten a divorce that day or somesuch.

I think that's part of the fun. It's the short adrenaline burst from the required vigilance and control as well as the decent acceleration down the slope. There are definitely places near the trails you can go faster (e.g. Hidden Trail) but few that require that heightened vigilance and control at speed.

Those inclines are wicked fun, but I'll admit they are dangerous, especially blasting through at full tilt on a bike.

But they are fun.

Thank you for posting this! I have been riding by lately and wondering what they have planned - those inclines are a bit dangerous.
