Ellerbe Fine Foods has made a lot of progress in redeveloping the former service station at 7th & Magnolia into a restaurant & prepared foods market. The former gas pump area has been transformed into a spacious and attractive outdoor dining area ringed with planters.
We’re all looking forward to giving Ellerbe a visit when it opens. As it progresses, we’ll be keeping track of things.

Have they released an opening date yet? What’s the expected business; mostly groceries or prepared foods? Staffed dining area or just a provided “eat-in” area like eatZi’s?
On the opening – word I’m hearing on the street is a soft opening sometime in June, assuming the final touches go smoothly.
I was on Magnolia around 10:30 pm tonight, and I saw folks having a drink in the outdoor dining area.
Maybe the owners after a long day of renovations?
It is great to see more revitalization in this area. It is amazing the amount of improvements especially with the landscape of the planters in the front along Magnolia and the planting further back at the restaurant along 7th street. I wish more restaurants and business in the area would do the same. It adds a lot of interest to the neighborhood. I look forward to their opening and setting in a garden patio.
The soft opening was this past weekend friday 6/5 and saturday 6/6 for friends and family. I went both nights (friend of the family). It was fantastic! I can’t wait to go back. I think they’re taking limited reservations as of this Tuesday 6/9.
Did anyone go yesterday? I hear the food is very good but the prices are higher than anticipated. Seems a little swankier than I thought. Will be interesting to see the prices in the market.
We did go – it was very, very good. It is indeed a more upscale (and expensive) place than we’d expected – not saying that as a negative, necessarily. We’ll have a post up later today as we didn’t get the photos uploaded this morning.
