BizPress on Bike Fort Worth

To go along with our own in-depth post on the subject from last month, here’s a post from our friends at the Fort Worth Business Press, who wrote up their own story on the Bike Fort Worth plan yesterday. Here’s a quote from District 9 City Councilmember Joel Burns from the article:

The Bike Fort Worth plan works well with the city’s push toward mixed-use developments, including those under way in the cultural district, Burns said.

“The living, retail and commercial components are exactly what we want, so people can walk and ride their bikes to these developments, and all that ties in together,” he said.

Responsible and thoughtful comments are welcome. Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted. Commenters whose comments we routinely delete will be banned. Nothing personal, but this is a privately owned and operated web site, and we are aiming for a specific tone and audience. Work within those guidelines and all will be well.
