Streetfilms: Bike-Thru Bank Window

This Streetfilm shows a rarity - a bicycle drive-thru at a bank. This one’s located in Boulder, Colorado. It’d be nice if banks in urban Fort Worth could provide a bike lane, as many banks refuse to do transactions with bike-using customers in drive-thrus.

Who refuses transactions from people on bikes? I’ve never heard of any bank doing that.

I’ve heard of a few of the big national banks refusing bicycles in the drive-through.

It’s one of the reasons I use a small neighborhood bank (Fort Worth National, now Southside Bank). They’ve never objected to my bicycling through their drive-through lanes, and I think I might get even friendlier service when I’m on the bike than when I’m in the car, because when I’m on the bike they see a person outside their window… not a car.

Is it me, or does it seem that banks are sprouting up everywhere amidst all the new construction around town?

Maybe that proposed Comerica Bank on 8th and Magnolia should consider a bike-thru window.

Bernie is correct - the bigger banks have been known to refuse service to bikes in the drive-through. I don’t recall precisely where I read about it recently, but it does happen.
