Responsible and thoughtful comments are welcome. Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted. Commenters whose comments we routinely delete will be banned. Nothing personal, but this is a privately owned and operated web site, and we are aiming for a specific tone and audience. Work within those guidelines and all will be well.

is that where the Albertsons is?

  2. Loren,

No – see two posts above. :)

This isn’t the development on University that got in trouble for using “TCU” in its name, is it? (when it was not affiliated with TCU whatsoever)

Kevin, are you familiar at all with the two new housing developments going up just west of McCart near the campus?

One is called Skyrock, I believe. It’s either on Merida or Sandage.

The other takes up the block between Parmer and Lubbock. I don’t know what it’s called, but the frame is already up.

  4. JP,

Skyrock and Cantey Place Townhomes. I ride my bike past them every day so I plan to start covering them soon.

Kevin – not to jump ahead of ourselves, what happened to the so-called housing development toward end of University between Granbury and the Bluebonnet Circle? Would it have similar trend as you mentioned above (on University and Devitt)?

  6. Ryan Place,

The developer building that development is temporarily delaying the project. He’s going to start work again in a few months so the development opens by Summer ‘09 so they can lease before the school year begins. Since it’s going to target students, he didn’t want to have the finished buildings sit there while school was underway.

Thank you for answering that question regarding the Granbury & Circle development – I’ve been watching the grass grow on the mounds of dirt for a while and wondered if the development fell through!

  8. Loren says:

Sorry Kevin, when i loaded the page the Kroger post wasn’t up yet, after posting here the new thread showed up!

  9. Jason says:

The developer doing the Bluenbonnet Circle/Granbury apartments is delaying the project on purpose – he/they ran afoul of the City when putting in their water/sewer lines – and will have to redo them.

  10. Jason says:

Redo my earlier post – I MEANT to say that the developer isn’t delaying it on purpose – rather, the City MADE them stop – so they can redo their water lines, which were evidently installed incorrectly.

The developers of the 2 sites on the east of campus are 2 different groups. The builder (Savannah) is the same, but Savannah is also part of the development group for Skyrock. They both have the same architect.
