TCU Albertsons To Be Urbanized?

I’m hearing rumors that the Albertsons by TCU will be getting a heavy makeover, possibly a rebuild, that will feature underground parking, space for additional retail tenants, and 3-4 floors of office space on top.

Just a little rumor for you. Thanks to reader Jeff for forwarding me the tidbit!

  • Wow, that would be pretty awesome!

  • Just happened to go into that Albertsons for the first time tonight. It is really small in there, and is close to the growing downtown and FW South populations, so I see the potential for this remodel and look forward to it!

  • Is Albertsons planning to leave the DFW market, no? Ah, United Supermarket - Market Street replacing Minyards (near TCU), you say? Any news about HEB (sans Central Market) coming aboard, other than in Burleson?

  • Wow… it’s’ hard to imagine that Albertson’s as anything but what it is. Of course, they remodeled the inside a bit just after I graduated from TCU, and I still feel weirded out every time I go in there.

Sounds like it would be a nice thing for the area, though. I always wanted more stuff in walking distance when I was a student.
