InCap Fund just keeps buying up property in Fort Worth for urban infill projects. Their latest is the Taj Mahal Apartments, along Camp Bowie at Birchman & Merrick. The Fort Worth Business Press reports:
A well-known face is moving to the Camp Bowie neighborhood and it’s sure to turn a few heads. Dallas-based Incap Fund, the investment firm that flipped the former Acme Brick headquarters and has amassed nearly 4 acres in Fort Worth’s Linwood Neighborhood, has plans to demolish the Taj Mahal apartments along Camp Bowie Boulevard and construct an upscale mixed-use project in its place.
Brandy O’Quinn, president of Historic Camp Bowie Inc., said the organization and several area business owners recently supported a zoning change for the Taj Mahal, at 2658 Merrick St. between Camp Bowie and Interstate 30, to be changed to mixed use.
The plans call for an upscale retail and condo/townhome development to occupy the site. Just down the street, at Camp Bowie & Merrick, a former car wash has already been demolished for construction of a new office building.
Also interesting to note the mention of InCap’s Linwood holdings, which amount to 4 acres at this point. InCap has been rumored to be acquiring land in Linwood (between University and Montgomery Plaza) for another mixed-use development.

Awesome! Those apartments have got to go!!
