Wait, what? New development on Rosedale? And it’s right up against the street? And the parking’s in the back? Hosannah! There’s hope yet. It would appear that Fort Worth South’s new Near Southside Development Standards and zoning are already having a positive effect.
I was a bit concerned when I started to see this development going up, because the corner of Hemphill & Rosedale is vacant. I just knew they were planning on putting a parking lot there. Turns out I was wrong, though, and thank goodness - Red Oak will be using that vacant corner for another retail structure, and all the development’s parking will be in the back where it belongs. Greatness.
I know it doesn’t look like much, but think about the current state of Rosedale. When put into context, this is a breath of fresh air. I’m looking forward more and better developments along the street now that the new zoning & development standards are in place.
