Caceria Building Progress

Wagner Oil’s new Caceria Building, at 5th & Commerce, is really starting to come together. The seven-story office building (which will have ground-floor retail) is of traditional design by Fort Worth’s own Gideon Toal. The brick and stone facade is nearing completion, and windows are beginning to go in now as well.

One of the things I’m liking about this building is its lovely detailing. The building’s top floor is covered in brick, stone arches, and what appears to be either decorative brick or tile work. It’s a lot more detailed than the early rendering made it appear to be, and I can’t wait to see it once the scaffolding is gone. Click the photos for a bigger view.

Be aware, though, that this site exists in part as an advocacy site for New Urbanism and its potential to remake Fort Worth into an even more livable city than it is today. Thoughtful dissent is generally welcome insofar as it fosters thoughtful replies. Inflammatory dissent, whether intentional or not, will be deleted.
