Museum Place Rises

The big office/condo/retail building at Museum Place, between 7th & Bailey, just keeps moving upwards. If you look closely, you can start to see the various curves of the building’s main facade, which will face a new plaza located in front between the building and the big University/7th/Camp Bowie/Bailey intersection.

If you look closely here, you can make out the ramp for the parking garage that the building will encircle and hide from the street.

Meanwhile, the new 7-Eleven Corner Store/condo building at 7th & Arch Adams is getting its facade. The building will be an attractive combination of brick & stone with nice-looking storefront windows on the ground floor.

One thing I do love about Museum Place is the sheer variety of architectural styles being employed. The corner store above takes a traditional (but still fresh) approach, and contrasts nicely with the grey, more industrial looking Village Homes townhomes nearby. The buildings up at the big intersection, meanwhile, are heading in a more modern, somewhat avant-garde direction. They’ve done a good job with architectural diversity on the project.
