City Council adopts Near Southside Urban Design District

Fantastic news for Fort Worth South – the city council has approved the Near Southside Urban Design District plan! The plan, which replaces the outdated, piecemeal zoning and design standards currently in place in Fort Worth South with a cohesive mixed-use zoning code and urban design standard program, means that new developments in the district will now be held to these more proper standards, in much the same was as development in downtown is made to conform to the Downtown urban design guidelines. In addition, the patchwork of outdated, incompatible, non-urban zoning will be replaced with a cohesive zoning code covering mixed-use and residential developments designed in a proper urban manner.

This is a huge step forward for Fort Worth South, and it will forever change the way the district redevelops. A huge victory for the people of Fort Worth South and the city.
