CityHomes to build “Presidio” off 7th

I’ve been hearing things about this for a while, and now that the Star-Telegram has made it public, I might as well talk about it.

CityHomes (a division of Centex), who are currently building Westview on the Upper West Side in downtown, are going to build a 20-unit townhome development on Carroll Street between 5th & 6th, across from Montgomery Plaza. The development, to be called “Presidio,” will be of Mission Revival architecture and feature two and three-story three-bedroom townhomes of between 1,800 and 2,000 square feet.

My sources did not give any information on Presidio’s price point, nor did the Star-Telegram article, so we only have speculation. Westview is one of the more affordable developments in downtown, with units starting in the $150k range, so it will be interesting to see how CityHomes positions their second Fort Worth development. I also look forward to seeing a rendering of Presidio’s Mission Revival architecture.

Look forward to more info on Presidio in the future. The project is supposed to be underway by the spring.

    This was news to me…

I talked with a Centex rep yesterday. He said that they are pulling out of this proposed project on Carroll because there’s too much competition with Montgomery Plaza and So7 (and even those places aren’t selling as quickly as planned).
