Museum Place cranes going up, plus…a mystery.

A big addition to the Museum Place construction site: the two cranes for the big office/residential/retail building on 7th are going up.

Meanwhile, I couldn’t help but notice this little curiosity. At the old Econo Glass & Mirror building on 7th, across the street from the old Acme Brick headquarters that will soon be demolished for the Cypress West 7th project, a demolition fence and backhoe have moved in.

I have heard nothing about a development going in on this site, and I’m more than a little intrigued as to what’s happening here. If you have any information about this, please post a comment and let me know.

UPDATE: The Tarrant Appraisal District says that this property is now owned by none other than Cypress Equities, developer of the West 7th project across the street. It would seem that Cypress has decided to expand their new development to the north side of 7th, as well. It will be interesting to see what they’re planning on building there.
