New SoDo/Convention Center garage beginning soon

Looks like work will be getting underway soon on the new parking garage to be built next to the new Omni Hotel between Houston and Throckmorton streets. The new garage will replace the parking lot currently on the site. The design of the garage will feature corners made of colored glass, and will incorporate Art Deco influences to provide an interesting facade and avoid the usual criticisms of garage design - and better still, the garage will feature ground-floor retail space on both Houston and Throckmorton, putting the entrances and exits on the side streets instead.
