From the image above, you can see that Heritage Park, the long neglected but quite cool little spot on the Trinity Bluffs just across the street from the Tarrant County Courthouse, has been closed with fencing and barricades. Last time Fort Worthology was there, we noticed that the water had been shut off and the extensive water features drained. Heritage Park has been in bad shape for years - dirty, its water features clogged with debris, that sort of thing. It is a very cool place, though, featuring a lookout point sticking out from the cliff face with an incredible view, and a path down to the ruins next to the river below that were some of the very oldest structures from Fort Worth’s founding days.
It will be good to see Heritage Park cleaned up and reopened, and we’ll keep you up-to-date on its status.
