We’ve gotten ahold of a much better image of the new Museum Place Post Office thanks to our good friends at TownSite Co.:

This is Moving Week. As such, I can’t guarantee that updates to the site here will be at their usual regular pace. I will try my best. Hopefully, Charter will be able to get my Internet access moved over smoothly. If not, I have at least found a wireless network without a password. :)

Here’s a quick sneak peek at the new Fort Worthology space:

Grist for the Rumor Mill: "Left Bank" property sold

We’re hearing rumors now that Ken Schaumburg has sold his “Left Bank” property on the west bank of the Trinity off 7th to N3 Capital, and a project is in the planning (being led by Crescent Real Estate ex-CEO Jerry Crenshaw) that would be a $3.5 billion upscale development.

That is literally all we’ve heard, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

West 7th demolition underway

Looks like things are moving on the big West 7th development very quickly. Already, demolition is taking place on the block bounded by 7th, Currie, Crockett, and Norwood. Thought not shown in the photo above, the old used car lot at 7th & Currie has been completely demolished, as have several buildings on the south side of the lot. It should only be a matter of time before the buildings in the photo above fall as well – demolition fencing is already in place.

This is the first block to be cleared for the West 7th project. Five more blocks, with an overall site plan bounded by 7th, University, Morton, and Foch, will be cleared for the development. The block currently being demolised will be the home of these buildings:

West 7th is being developed by Cypress Equities, and the buildings were designed by Good, Fulton, and Farrell. Here’s a rendering of the whole project:

Museum Place progress

Work continues on the first building of the Museum Place development at University/7th/Camp Bowie/Bailey. Grading seems complete and drilling is now underway.

In the rendering below, the building currently under construction is on the right. The building on the left will replace the Texaco station currently across the street.

Updated rough draft of downtown streetcar circulator system

After much debate, helpful comments, and research, we’ve considerably altered and refined our rough draft proposal for a downtown streetcar system. With the addition of directional arrows and two-way tracking where possible, this looks more flexible. Take a look at tell us what you think in the comments.

Fort Worthology Draft Proposal for Downtown Streetcar Circulator

A sneak peek at some of the stuff we’re working on for our Streetcar page – our own proposed downtown streetcar system, color-coded to represent the various phases/routes/components. This is just a rough draft. We’re also working on similar proposals for Uptown, the Cultural District, and Fort Worth South.
