Lili's – a quickie review

Well, Lili’s Bistro was absolutely fantastic. Steph had the gorgonzola waffle fries, and I had the potato cakes with crumbled feta cheese. The potato cakes were outstanding, soft and delicious with an undercurrent of onion. The gorgonzola waffle fries were wonderfully flavorful and prepared just right. Our peach & mango tea hit the spot perfectly. For dessert, we shared a piece of the Italian cream cake, which was just terrific, especially with its coconut-pineapple frosting.

The service was first-rate, with our waiter being knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely attentive. Owner/chef Vance Martin greeted us, and when not busy in the open kitchen right by the tables, he was going around talking with guests. The interior of the historic building (also housing Spiral Diner and Panther City Bicycles) was pure greatness, from the half exposed rafters/half tin ceiling to the awesome Mrs. Baird’s ghost ad on the exposed brick wall. The atmosphere of the place is great – classy, comfortable, upscale but completely unpretentious. In other words, a classic Fort Worth establishment.

Fort Worthology gives Lili’s five stars out of five. From the food to the service to the environment, everything about this place is a home run. You owe it to yourself to check out Lili’s as soon as you can. For more info, check out their web site at www.lilisbistro.com.
