It looks like a gorgeous historic downtown landmark may be getting some work soon that’s been a long time in the making. The Downtown Design Review Board is being presented with a plan to build the two huge bell towers originally intended for St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Throckmorton, but never actually completed. The small church was built in 1888 and has been beautifully maintained since, but the twin bell towers that were part of the original design were never built. The church is undergoing some restoration work now, and it seems that there is finally enough funding to complete the bell towers.
Fort Worthology is working on getting a rendering of what the finished product will look like - we’ve seen some shots, and the result will be quite beautiful indeed. We’ll keep you updated on St. Patrick’s bell tower construction as it proceeds.
