That’s right - the totally remade Fort Worthology has arrived! Obviously, the most prominent change is the completely new appearance - cleaner, with more breathing room. We’ve moved the page navigation links to just below the title graphics, creating a nifty, easy-to-use tabbed interface and freeing up space for better organization of the Categories, Links, Recent Posts and Search.
Speaking of search, we’re now using a slick live search system - just type what you’re looking for, and wait a few seconds - no need to even hit the enter key! Your search results will appear in the main blog view without reloading. Just click the “x” button next to the search box to clear your search and return to the current blog posts.
We’re also using this live technology for accessing the archives. As you click the “older” link above the newest post, the older posts appear live in the browser window. A pair of sliders will appear to let you scan back through the archives and to shorten the amount of each post shown on the page. Dragging to the right brings you back to the newer content.
Live tech is also used in the commenting system. When you add a comment to a post, it will now appear on the post page instantly without loading a new page.
Naturally, we’ll be making some tweaks over the coming days as you all start to use the new site, but hopefully you can already see the potential. Thanks for stopping by, and here’s to furthering the urban cause in the Panther City!
